Features

The web without the clutter

No ads, no tracking

uBlock Origin from the first launch, Gecko tracking protection and HTTPS-only mode.

Private tabs

History, cookies and site data are erased as soon as you close the tab.

A smart address bar

Suggestions from history, bookmarks and tabs, and swiping between tabs.

On-device translation

Pages are translated on the phone itself — the text never leaves it.

Reading and errands

Reader view, PDF and print, bookmark folders, downloads you can pause.

Make it yours

Firefox extensions, a dark theme, six accents and a top or bottom toolbar.

Privacy

Obrii knows nothing about you

No accounts, analytics or ads, and no data about you for Steppe. History, bookmarks and settings stay on your phone, and the browser connects only where it has to:

  • to the sites you open;
  • to your search engine for suggestions — if they are on, and never in private tabs;
  • to addons.mozilla.org for extensions such as uBlock Origin, while uBlock Origin itself updates its filter lists from its own sources;
  • to Mozilla services for Safe Browsing, tracker lists and translation models.

Questions and answers

Why Gecko and not Chromium?

Gecko is Mozilla’s independent engine that powers Firefox: full extensions and no dependence on Google. Obrii’s interface is its own.

Do I need an account?

No. Obrii works right away, and your history, bookmarks and settings are stored only on your phone.

How does ad blocking work?

It’s on from the start: Obrii installs and updates uBlock Origin by itself, and Gecko tracking protection works independently of it. Turn blocking off for a single site in the site panel, or entirely in Settings.

What do private tabs keep?

No history, cookies or site data — only what you save yourself — and screenshots are blocked. Sites and your provider still see visits, as with any private mode.

Can I install Firefox extensions?

Yes, from addons.mozilla.org; each one needs a separate permission for private tabs.
