Questions and answers

Do I need an account?

No. Smak works right away, and your recipes are stored only on your phone.

Does Smak work offline?

Yes. You only need the internet to import from websites, use the AI assistant and buy on Google Play.

Why my own Gemini key?

Requests go straight to Google, with no servers of ours and no subscription, and the key is stored encrypted on your phone. Without a key everything else works as usual — how to get a key.

How do I move my recipes to a new phone?

Create a backup in Settings — a single .smak file — and restore it on the new phone: restoring only adds and updates recipes and deletes nothing.

I bought Pro, but it’s missing on my new phone

Sign in to Google Play with the same account and tap “Restore purchase” in “Smak Pro”.

How do I report a bug?

Use “Contact the developer” in Settings, the menu of an assistant answer or the form on this website.
